Introduction to Vocabulary

With Vocabulary on Lexonik Cloud, you can search and discover a vast ever-growing library.

Launch the vocabulary app

After you sign in to Lexonik Cloud, you can easily access vocabulary app by either of the following steps:

• On the Lexonik Cloud homescreen, click the search function within the app tile and run a search for a word.
• On Lexonik Cloud, click the App Launcher button in the toolbar, then click icon for the vocabulary app.

The vocabulary library

Lexonik Cloud has upgraded the vocabulary library in every way to empower staff even further and support them in explicitly teaching academic vocabulary across the curriculum . By improving the library and streamlining key functionality, organizations can expect wider uptake and therefore reduced teacher variability.

The vocabulary entry has been expanded to include the following where applicable:

• Plural and Past tense
• British English and American English spellings

We have also made several improvements to the user experience when exploring the library by allowing multiple definitions to be returned on search.

Submissions

When your search returns no results or your word is not listed in the search return, you’re able to submit a word for consideration. Once it has been reviewed by a member of the Lexonik team and accepted, the word will be added to the library. There is a 48-hour estimated turnaround on submissions, so we thank you for your patience.

You can also contribute to the growth of the vocabulary library by submitting an edit to improve an existing definition entry. Once it has been reviewed by a member of the Lexonik team and accepted, the definition will be edited accordingly.
