With Vocabulary on Lexonik Cloud, you can search and feel empowered to explicitly teach academic vocabulary in every curriculum area.

Search basics

Use the search bar to find a word or phrase in the Vocabulary database. The search return will list all entries matching your search along with related words. Related words are those that are linked by either prefix or stem. Related words are generated at random. The search results will display the word, definition and tagged affixes.

To account for disciplinary literacy, some words will be listed multiple times with differing definitions.

All entries in the search result can be added to a word list.

Smart Search: Effortless Word Discovery

Our Smart Search feature automatically detects exact matches—no need for extra formatting. Simply type a word, and if it exists in our Vocabulary, you'll get precise results instantly.

Beyond exact matches, Smart Search intelligently identifies morphological patterns. Just start typing a prefix or root, like bi, cent, or trac, and the system will automatically return all relevant words linked to that structure.

You can also search using partial words or phrases —making it easier than ever to explore words and their connections.
